Purchase a Mobile Pyrolysis Kiln
We are currently in the process of fabricating and finalising four different sizes of our mobile pyrolysis systems. Please see below for some technical details as well as prices for each unit. Purchasing more than one unit will work out cheaper for all involved if more than one unit is required for your operation. Additional information in the form of a User Manual will be provided on delivery of unit(s).
Delivery times are roughly 12 - 16 weeks from the time an order is placed, depending on stock availability. Please allow for this delivery time and get in touch with us should you have any further questions. We can deliver the unit(s) free of charge within the United Kingdom but rest assured we are currently looking at delivering to other parts of the world.
Our Mobile Pyrolysis Units are hand made from quality materials, by quality people. Built from CAD designed drawings, with specific parts of the system utilising a CNC machine cut operation and DXF drawings for a precision finish to the biochar making system. Below you can see some photos of the work that goes in to the actual build of one of our retort kilns. Each one is built with care, ensuring there are no gaps in welds and the fabrication process. We have paid particular attention to the insulation, front door and the pipework, making sure there is minimum possibility of heat/smoke escaping, until the unit gets hot enough to run on the gasses. We are also very happy with the finished paint coating which has a Direct-to-Metal substance applied to each and every unit we produce. This gives the product every opportunity to minimise corrosion over the years, especially with the high temperatures involved in the operation of the mobile pyrolysis unit.
What's included in the purchase :-
- A premium quality designed, welded and fabricated choice of four Mobile Pyrolysis units of your choice.
- Fully Pressure Tested, safe and quality built piece of machinery.
- Direct-to-Metal (DTM) paint coating to protect against corrosion.
- Manufactured to BSEN 1090-2 Exc 3.
- Safe operating procedure manual and gloves.
Please be aware that prices are in British Sterling Pounds and does not include VAT. Delivery at the moment is only free within UK mainland. Its also a good idea to take into consideration that these figures are based on current production costs, such as raw materials, welding, fabrication, cutting, valves, pipes and so on. These material costs will be reviewed every 6 - 12 months.
Securing your mobile pyrolysis unit works on a 50% deposit upfront and 50% payment prior to delivery.
If you are curious about what amount of feedstock in weight that can be used in each of the four units then here is some additional information that may be of use to you. As things stand its not straight forward to work out how much biochar in weight and/or quantity you would get from any of the four different sized units, after the burn run has complete. There are many variables such as moisture, type of feedstock used, particle size etc to take into consideration. Its also important to note that while its great to insert as much biomass within the inner chamber as possible, you still need enough room for the warm air/gasses to circulate around all of the feedstock in order for the pyrolysis process to work properly. A large pile of biomass will not work as well as blocks of wood for example, where you'll have enough air gaps in-between for the gasses to circulate the entire feedstock.
If we were to use wood chip as a feedstock, we can estimate the following loading capacity: -
Bulk Density of Wood Chip are in the range of 250kg/m3
Other Wood Species: -
Using wood chip as feedstock, with 250kg/m3 as its bulk density, the four units could be loaded as follows, but of course higher loading capacities are possible with larger wood pieces: -
BCW 500 @ 0.6m3 = 150kg
BCW 750 @ 1.2m3 = 300kg
BCW 1000 @ 2.3m3 = 575kg
BCW 1200 @ 3m3 = 750kg
If purchasing a pyrolysis unit is not what you need right now, why not take a look at our Biochar page to see how our blend of on-farm organic waste made into biochar can rejuvenate and enhance your soil in so many ways.
